How to Care for your Hair Extensions

When caring for your hair, you must seek advice from a licensed professional if you have any uncertainties. When co-washing, thoroughly saturate your hair with water and then apply conditioner. Gently detangle your hair using either your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Rinse the conditioner thoroughly with cool water, following the direction of the hair's cuticle. After that, scrunch your hair to enhance its natural texture and allow it to air dry.

Proper care is crucial when managing hair extensions. Always handle them with the utmost care by combing or brushing from the bottom up, one strand at a time. Before co-washing or shampooing, lightly detangle the extensions to maintain their good condition. Treat extensions like your natural hair when using heat, and ensure you use a heat protectant when styling with hot tools.

When shampooing your hair, being mindful of the process is crucial. Avoid forcefully massaging your scalp or going against the cuticle. Opt for sulfate-free shampoos and products free from alcohol. Using the right products is critical to preventing product build-up and maintaining the health and appearance of your hair.

For those with wavy or curly hair, use a spray bottle with water or a water and leave-in conditioner mix to define curls. Style your hair with a paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb, and always protect it by sleeping with a satin scarf or a satin pillowcase.

If you're considering bleaching your hair or closures, consult a professional stylist to avoid overprocessing. Please avoid using a 50-volume developer, as it can lead to overprocessing and damage to your hair. If it is your first-time bleaching, opt for a lower developer to have better control over the process.
